MAC & A.K. Biography

Mac & A.K. are a veteran rap group, and the 1st artists to ever reside on a major label to come from East Palo Alto in the West Bay Area of Northern California. The certified Gold selling duo Mac & A.K. have been puttin it down for over 10 years strong releasing 3 albums that have been critically acclaimed. The twin brother rap group was formerly signed to the major label Tommy Boy Records from 1995-98. While on the label, they released an E.P. “Westbound (For Riders Only)” in 1996.  In the past, they have done many classic collaborations with Platinum and Gold selling artists such as: Keyshia Cole, Mistah F.A.B., E-40, Planet Asia, Dem Hoodstarz, Keak Da Sneak, Above The Law, MC Ren of NWA, San Quinn, E-A-Ski, Mac Mall, JT The Bigga Figga, C-Bo & many more. They also made an appearance on the certified Gold selling "Nothing To Lose" soundtrack with the song "Way Too Saucy" which featured veteran Vallejo lyricist Mac Mall. After spending a few productive years with the majors, they decided it was time to go back to the streets with their indy self owned label E&K Music Group. Since starting the label in 2001, they have released 2 albums, "Money Rhyme$" and "Hu$tle Mu$ic Vol. 1".
All of their projects are produced by in house producer and co-label owner Mac P, with his classic E.P.A. funk, with a new millenium twist.  The “Money Rhymes” album featured guest appearances from Platinum and Gold selling artists E-40, Keyshia Cole, Above The Law and Mac Mall. The “Hustle Music” album also included guest appearances from some of the best artists in the industry today, from the Bay Area and beyond, such as Young Noble from 2Pac's Outlawz and The multiplatinum artist The Game from Dr. Dre's Aftermath Ent./Black Wall Street.

  In 2007, they are looking to reestablish them selves as a force in the reemerging Bay Area music scene and beyond by dropping 2 full length albums and 2 mixtapes in the same year. First to be released will be the mixtape entitled "Hood Legends Vol. 1", hosted by JusDre (Booty Crack Magazine) and mixed by DJ Doc Boogie & DJ Dizzy. Soon after will be the release of their long awaited new studio album "Legendary" to be released in early 2007. Hood Legends Vol. 2 will also be readied for release shortly as a precursor for the 2nd full length album entitled "Only The Strong Survive" which is already near completion. They are also putting together a greatest hits package called "Mac & A.K. Presents: The Greatest Slaps (1996-2007)". They are currently filming a DVD project entitled "Grind Time (Behind The Hustle)". Solo albums are also in the works for both Mac & A.K. Also look to see Mac's production to show up on outside projects for other artists in 2007. E&K Music Group is looking to have a prosperous 2007 and 2008.
